Bulletin 18 September 11th – September 24th 2025
On Tuesday September 9th Chief Constable Tim De Meyer hosted the second Surrey Police Gala, presenting awards for a range of categories that showcase the excellence of our officers, staff and volunteers.
PC Lee Newman an officer in our Safer Neighbourhood Team won proactive investigator of the year award and was presented with the Alan Craggs Cup. His excellent proactive investigation skills have significantly contributed to the detection and disruption of criminal activity across Tandridge, neighbouring Boroughs and beyond. Lee has exceptional ability to detect crime trends and advanced ANPR knowledge to identify suspects and produce high quality casework. His contributions have been praised by the Crown Prosecution Service and Lee’s dedication, tenacity and professionalism are a credit to Surrey Police and the communities he serves.
PCSO of the year award was presented to Lisa Cobby who principally covers the Oxted area. Renowned for being the first out on patrol and the last to return, Lisa carries out her duties with diligence and compassion. Over the past year Lisa has been first on scene and among the first responders to several serious incidents, administering lifesaving CPR on two separate occasions. Lisa also played a pivotal role in the arrest of two people riding stolen mopeds. Despite being provoked whilst in a marked police vehicle, she maintained composure, co-ordinated with colleagues and facilitated a successful pursuit and arrest with the support of NPAS and the Metropolitan Police.
I am sure you will join me in offering them our congratulations at these well deserved awards.
Inspector Lyndsey Whatley Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Inspector
